Stretching, releasing, warming up, cooling down, recovery... these are parts of a workout many of us casually skip when heading to the gym or out for a jog.
Truth be told, these parts are actually MORE important to our bodies and health than the workouts themselves. The best workout in the world won't do anything if you haven't primed your nervous system for exercise, and then set the tone for your body to begin recovering immediately to maximize the result and, most importantly, avoid injury.
Don't think of it as a single workout that you can rush through. You want to be able to maintain your level of health and improve your fitness for the rest of your life, so lay the foundations now.
Like they say, it's a marathon, not a sprint...
