I consider myself a Legba in the sense that I present people with alternatives and options. I don't want anyone to follow me and what I say, do as I do, believe as I believe etc. I'm not your teacher, I'm not a ally, I'm not anyone's fake ass leader and I'm definitely not here to convince anyone of anything. I merely show you the way to the door and after that it's on YOU whether you cross the threshold or not. Like I said before, this isn't about me and what I think.
All of the Papa Legba is the Afrikan Satan fuckery bullshit aside, this is a description of what a Legba truly is. Also, I would like to add that she is one of my favorite speakers because she speaks not only about Afrikan spirituality, Haitian heritage but she also speaks about the historic roles that Afrikan women have played in revolutionary times in the history of our collective race. Things that you don't hear about in school but is publicly documented so you can look them up for yourself. I greatly admire her and her work. If you've never heard of her you should look her up. Especially if you are a Black woman.
