So I've totally been slacking lately on waking up before the boys 😴 Patially because I've been extra tired lately and partially because Gatlyn has been waking up super early! This week I've been doing much better at implementing new/old habits like exercising regularly and reading my Bible with my coffee. It's amazing how much better you feel when you're taking care of your body and more importantly your spirit ☺️🙌 #blessedwithcharm#livehappy#momlife#jesusandcoffee
Sharing these beautiful words from Olabisi @thestressfreemum today!
"Children are not a distraction from the long list of chores we may have planned to complete today!
The pile of laundry can wait, the dishes can wait, the 3 course dinner can wait too....but not our children - for a time will come when all chores will be done and the children now adults will be away from home."
What are some of the ways you spend quality time with your children?
My quality time with my 2 yo is all about the snuggles, milk, giggles, dancing, reading books, playing with toys and pointing out every bird, plane or other moving thing we can possibly find!

HAPPY FRIDAY EVE YALL!!! Change is coming and I am SOOOO excited 🤗. A big home project is being taken underway starting TODAY! This will seem simple to most people but its huge for me, I've been biting at the bit to take this on since we moved in back in January 😂. It will probably take most of the weekend but my goal is to have it done for my Sunday morning coffee + and to have a lazy restful day but we will have to wait and see! I think I can do it 😏🤔😉 #wishmeluck#icantwaitforthebeforeandafterphoto
Everything you do in life will not always gain a stamp of approval from the ones that you love.
The school you go to (or don't go to), the career you choose, the person you fall in love with...the list goes on.
But I'm here to tell you that some of your most unpopular endeavors will also be the most rewarding.
Never fear the path less traveled....the journey is rewarding and there is far less traffic 💛✌

Living in the country has been quite an adjustment this past year. & while it's had quite a few "learning experiences" 🙈 this simple life out here is such a gift. Coming home to our sweet neighbor and my husband swinging their legs off the tailgate of the truck while drinking sweet tea & teaching us all the important things of living life out here. 🙌🏼 When the UPS man stops at the end of our driveway just to say hi and see how the tree progress was coming along even when we don't have a package. 😂 when our neighbor brings over a bag overflowing with sweet corn and farm fresh veggies. ❤️ It is such a sweet little community out here. God is opening my eyes to see how just how present He is amidst it all & that He has us in His hands. 🙌🏼
Training camp is officially underway, and the football season is starting soon! Let's be honest, Jesus + Coffee is what's going to be getting a lot of us wives (better halves) through it all! As much as I love football season (I absolutely love it and am so excited for it) I also understand the sacrifices my husband and I both have to make to keep everything in order: Faith, family, football, and everything else. It seems simple enough, but some days are harder than others (longer too lol), from the time spent apart, high demand on my husband to perform, put his body through daily physical combat, as well as stay mentally tuned up and find a balance between work and home ... for me, it's a juggling act of all sorts- holding down the home front: endless laundry, cooking, errands, scheduling etc, taking care of our kids, attending games, events etc. // ALL of it is a blessing, but at times is a labor of love. I'm just thankful I get to enjoy the ride and be my husband's biggest supporter/fan/bff. Here's to year 6!

One of the most important aspects of prayer happens before we actually pray. It's the time we take to quiet ourselves, to turn away from distractions, to focus our minds, and to prepare our hearts for time with the Lord. (I'm referring to those times we set aside for intentional prayer by the way. Of course there are times when we send up urgent requests or burst into spontaneous praise or thanksgiving.) This preparation time is so crucial because if we really want to be intentional and effective in our prayer times, we can't be distracted by or focused on other things.
"A great part of my time is spent in getting my heart in tune for prayer. It is the link that connects earth with heaven." - Robert M'Cheyne
"The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.” - Psalm 34:15
How do you prepare for your prayer times? Sometimes I'll listen to some praise music to get my heart and mind turned toward the Lord, but when it comes time to pray, I really need quiet so that I can focus, so I make sure there's no distracting noises, and I also make sure my phone is on silent. (Sometimes I even leave it in another room so I'm not even tempted to look at it! 😬)
By the way, I'd love to encourage your prayer life even more, so if you haven't downloaded your copy of my free prayer devotional, you can get it now via the link in my bio. I'd really love for you to have it! 💗
