Look closely and what do you see? At first glance it appears to be just a bundle of white flowers, but for me I did a double take because it looked like a heart. Some people may think that's a stretch of the imagination, but I think that's what makes life interesting and exciting. Holding onto our sense of imagination and creativity. All too often we get caught up in everyday life that we miss out on opportunities to notice the little things that could bring a smile to our face and for those few moments feel happiness. As the weekend starts I challenge you to try and notice some of the little things in life that may otherwise pass you by without a thought, a child's laughter, waves crashing onto shore, the rustle of leaves in the wind, the warmth of the sun on your skin, being grateful to be alive and live in these moments if only for a few seconds can really help your mind, body, and soul ♡

I think I'm ready to move home.
This has been such a massively hard pill to swallow because I wanted to leave SO badly... I've been fighting it. But I think this ultimately would be for the best.
I'm not my best self here.
First image is us heading toward the Temecula valley. Feel like an airplane running out of runway today. California you sexy, dusty, surprising beast, you win. Closing in on 3000 miles and it feels like we've barely scratched the surface. I also know, my sixth sense tells me, that while we've had some really awesome wines, we've missed out on the hip underbelly every region has. Those on the outskirts, the weirdos and maniacs, the producers who - like Napa did in the 70s - fight he establishment for respect, legitimacy, and to just break the mould. Which is the best thing for me about about wine - when the mould breaks and it's delicious.
I've learned a lot tasted really beautiful wines, and found an elegance in many where I wouldn't have expected it. BUT PLEASE CALIFORNIA STOP MAKING OVERRIPE SOUPY PINOT FFS. Like for reals. If you see this within the next two hours recommendations for epic Funtime San Diego dinner welcome.
Thanks Cali, your strip malls and cookie cutter communities suck ass, but your rolling hills, checked out hippies, surfers and skaters, sun filled wines, mountains, valleys, nutjobs, crazy coastline, your gaps (Petaluma, rainbow et al) and your beautiful wine giving fog have won me over. I'll be back for sure. .
