Now I know I’ve said this before but this week I have been so hungry. Nothing I am eating is filling me up.
I’m not on calories or a food plan, I am just doing portions. There is not really anything I can’t eat, I just have to be mindful when I am choosing what I get to make sure I am eating everything I need to….protein, carbs, fats, veggies. So I spoke to Sam this week about my food and the fact I’m so hungry. He basically just reassured me and told me to listen to my body and eat when I am hungry.
Which now leads me to my food prep. At the minute I am just taking 2 meals with me to work and I don’t want to be caught short so I am going to take another one with me (as a just incase) A hungry Bhavisha is not a happy Bhavisha hahaha.
Chicken is my go to protein, I know I need to venture out with different source but I just don’t know what. One of the great things about U Fit is the member, they are all so helpful with meal ideas and they always give me new things when I'm not sure about something.
The key for me this week has been to always be prepared and try new things!!! #ufitfamily#fitspo#fitness#leicester#gym#gains#ufit#gymtime#gainz#workout#getStrong#getfit#justdoit#youcandoit#personaltrainer#noexcuses#ufitleicester#weightlossleicester#ufitstudio#independentwomen#thurmaston#workout#gymbunny#gymbooty

At 20 a day, I would most definitely be classed as a smoker and had been for several years. What had started as ‘social’ had become an everyday requirement from the moment that I woke up. My day was structured by what number cigarette I was on and how I could build my day around my fag breaks.
It had become part my life and my immediate response to any stress that came into my day. It could be a bad meeting or an argument, the response was always to reach for my lighter.
Yes, I had tried to quit before but with not much success. My drive behind quitting was never strong enough and my stressors were stronger.
When I started at U Fit I recognised immediately that I was investing in my body and therefore my over-all health. Smoking, for me, was no longer an option that I could entertain or by reliant on in times of stress. I had to find another way to cope.
As my first day at U Fit came closer I started to tail of the amount that I smoked a day until on ‘D Day’ I was at zero. My journey had now officially begun.
For the first time in my life quitting itself was nowhere near as difficult as it had been before. I reminded myself of what I was doing and how I was investing in my health, my future.
As time progressed, the physical cravings disappeared and yet my levels of stress did not. Psychologically I was aware that my coping mechanism had been removed. What I did not expect was that through training and talking to my coach I found that I was better able to deal with my stress by myself, without the need of a cigarette.
Bad meeting? The battle ropes would take a pounding. Argument? I’d lift heavy, leave the gym and go to resolve it.
Through exercise, and the drive to make my overall health better, I managed to not just kick the habit, I learnt to boot it right out of my universe. I also learnt that I did not need to rely on anything in my life to deal with stress, I could deal with it myself.
What I’ve gained instead is a healthy body and mind and the comfort of saying that I am definitely not a smoker. #ufitfamily#fitspo#fitness#leicester#gym#gains#ufit#gymtime#workout#getfit#justdoit#personaltrainer#noexcuses#ufitleicester

I want to start with a quote from Darren Hardy’s book The Compound Effect:
“Our choices can be our best friend, or worst enemy. They can deliver us to our goals or send us orbiting into a galaxy far far away. You make your choices and then your choices make you. Every decision no matter how slight, alters the trajectory of your life.”
Apart from using a fantastic Star Wars reference (only geeks will get) Darren makes a great point.
As people, we all make decisions on a daily basis that alters the remainder of our day, week, month, and potentially year. These choices may seem small, yet in time, build to become something much greater.
For example, take the habits that we promote at U Fit Studio. On the face of it they can seem small, insignificant in the grand scheme of your day. However, over time, they will build into the foundations that will shape the choices that you continue to make.
When faced with a choice that impacts our health or wellbeing each decision can take us down a path towards our goal, or further away.
Hardy continues by saying:
“The first step towards change is awareness. If you want to get from where you are to where you want to be, you have to start by becoming aware of the choices that lead you away from your desired destination.”
The coaches at U Fit encourage clients to be aware of the choices that they are making. Not by judging, but instead by understanding the route that is being chosen. Supporting and guiding a client towards their goals by calling into focus the options that are available to them, as well as the one that they have chosen.
The path may seem long, it may take detours along the way. As coaches, we are the passengers in your journey, there to guide you back to your path and towards your goal, which ever galaxy that may be!
Past experiences in food shopping were pretty unorganised and chaotic. I had a rough idea of what I wanted to buy…and I mean rough. The reality was that once behind the wheels of the trolley the route around the supermarket would be an endless parade of going up and down each aisle grabbing things that I liked the look of. By the time I got to the till it would be overflowing with packets of convenience food and snacks.
The icing on the trolley-cake would be at the checkout whereby something of a chocolate nature would literally throw itself from the shelf and into my trolley….okay, maybe more than one…and okay it didn't throw itself, you get the idea!
Joining U fit it was clear that I lot of changes in my life could be made and one of them was the way in which I approached shopping. Talking to my coach we looked at ways that I could gain more control over what I was intending to eat for the week. Rather than go unprepared to the supermarket I would go armed with a shopping list and the commitment that what was on the list was all that could be bought.
It took practice and it didn't come easy. With so much on offer in every aisle it was a challenge to stick to the list. Over time I noticed that my shopping trolley was getting emptier as it got to the till and I even resulted in using the smaller trolley! Not only that, I knew what I wanted to eat and what ingredients I needed. It meant that all the convenience meals were gone and the snacks were missing.
So, what about the pesky kamikaze chocolate treats? Instead of hitting the bottom of my trolley they now hit the floor as I turn my trolley in the other direction. #ufitfamily#fitspo#fitness#leicester#gym#gains#ufit#gymtime#gainz#workout#getStrong#getfit#justdoit#youcandoit#personaltrainer#cleaneating#noexcuses#ufitleicester#weightlossleicester#ufitstudio#independentwomen#strongisthenewskinny#cleaneating#lose2jeansizes
